This half mile of canal is NOT all that is left of the old canal. There are three places in Northampton where the canal is very clear.
ReplyDelete1. By route 10 (hence the new sign on the new rail trail bridge "New Haven and Northampton Canal Greenway."
2. At Barrett Street marsh, which is the route of the canal.
3. Just north of river run, where the canal, one lock site, and the old boat basin are very obvious.
