The other morning I had "Lawyers in Love" by Jackson Browne on my I-Pod and was walking to get the morning paper. Going and coming back I had a case of the nasty chuckles, thinking about the Judge and his troubles.
"What did he ever do to you?" asked my wife, hearing the last of my chuckles as I came in the door.
"Are you kidding?" I said. "He put me on page one of the Gazette and gave me one of the worst months of my life. He helped drive me out of politics, for better or worse."

The Great Flood of 1874:

A boulder with a plaque deep in a forest in the hills above Williamsburg. Outcrops of what might be ledge, but on closer examination turn out to be an old wall. The ruins of the Williamsburg Reservoir Dam are a reminder of how greed for water power spawned a disaster in our valley.
